Islington Townhouse
This project involved the renovation and internal reconfiguration of a Grade II listed Georgian townhouse, dating from 1805–1814, within the Northampton Square Conservation Area, Islington. The works focused on the ground and basement levels, improving spatial flow and enhancing the connection between the basement and the rear garden.
A key aspect of the scheme was the sensitive reinstatement of original fenestration to the front façade, restoring the building’s architectural integrity and reinforcing its relationship with the surrounding streetscape. Internally, the reconfiguration provided more functional and adaptable living spaces, balancing contemporary requirements with the conservation demands of a listed property.
Developed in close consultation with the London Borough of Islington, the project secured Pre-application advice, Listed Building Consent, and Planning Approval. The result is a carefully considered refurbishment that respects the building’s historic character while ensuring its continued use and relevance as a family home.
