Assorted Studio is a UK based architectural design and research studio based between Stroud and London.
Our work responds to the existing fabric of buildings and spaces with a strong emphasis on materiality and making. An understanding of vernacular heritage and a knowledge of traditional methods of construction are central to our approach when working with older buildings, incorporating new technology and processes where appropriate.
Each project involves a thorough investigation into suitable materials, alongside extensive model making and prototyping. We design responsibly with person and place in mind, symbiotically influencing harmonious interactions between the natural and built environment.
Alongside commissions, we undertake regular research projects, as well as collaborations with writers, researchers, craftspeople, manufacturers and organisations.
Assorted Studio was established in 2018 by Alaric Campbell Garratt.
