Burberry – Here We Are
‘Here We Are’ was a two-week exhibition of British photography curated by Christopher Bailey, Lucy Kumara Moore, and Alasdair McLellan, staged to coincide with Burberry’s September 2017 collection. The exhibition and collection display were set within Old Sessions House, an 18th-century Grade II* listed building in Clerkenwell, London, and unfolded across its many spaces and levels.
Alongside the exhibition, a runway show was produced over two floors, with accompanying installations of artwork, furniture, lighting, and fabric displays. Alaric worked closely with Burberry’s events and production departments, and with lead curator Lucy Kumara Moore, coordinating the architectural and spatial elements that shaped the presentation.
The project was delivered in the midst of renovation works to Old Sessions House, requiring ongoing consultation with conservation and restoration specialists. This “meanwhile” occupation of the building highlighted the interplay between heritage context and contemporary cultural production, transforming the site into a layered setting for both fashion and photography.
